Due to popular demand we have brought you this online Massage course with the option for an unperson training day if you would like to come In person too. This course gives you a lovely insight into horse massage and what is involved to enable you to carryout a massage on your own horse.


It is also a very detailed introduction to the world of equine massage if you are considering carrying out massage as a career on our further study Equine Sports Massage Level 3 Course.


During the course you will learn how to assess your horse and how he is feeling to enable you to have the skills to massage your horse with soft and deep tissue techniques targeted where he needs it most. This will help your horse to be more comfortable and support his performance resulting in improved suppleness, flexibility and relaxation.


As an extra to the course we have built in the hot and cold treatments that you can use to help you further support your horse In feeling his best. These are lovely to carryout and spending that extra bit of time on the ground can really help build a bond with your horse. Many owners find by massaging their horse that they feel more connection after.


You will learn:


Basic horse A&P related to massage

Injury prevention massage


The range of massage techniques including.

  • Effleurage
  • Petrissage
  • Kneading
  • Friction
  • Tapotement Techniques
  • Myofascial Release techniques
  • Cross fibre massage


How too:

  • Assess, read and identify areas with tension
  • Apply soft tissue massage
  • Tailor massage for your horse
  • Use massage to aid Detox, relaxation and performance
  • Administer the range of massages to suit the horses needs
  • Apply hot and cold aids incorporated into the massage
  • Carryout grounding and postural exercises including Myofascial release


At the end of the course modules there are questions to answer to check your learning and understanding before you progress onto the next module.


When you have finished the learning materials you will receive a certificate of completion that you can use as an entry onto our following Sports massage certification, if you would like to progress and achieve insurance to provide treatments as a career.


Once you are enrolled on the course you can access the course anytime to suit you. You can work through the modules to suit your own speed.


There are recorded demonstrations for you to watch and apply to your horse with massage routines that you can follow and apply to your horse.
